Carolyn was invited to participate in the <a href=\"https:\/\/tryit.raleys.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Something Extra Try-It program<\/a>, an opportunity to try great products and services available at Raley\u2019s (for free) and to share her opinions about them through their website and social media. No problem&#8230; Cooking, photos, twitter, facebook and blogging, I&#8217;m in.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8184\" alt=\"IMG_0939\" src=\"http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG_0939.jpg\" width=\"475\" height=\"320\" srcset=\"http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG_0939.jpg 475w, http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG_0939-300x202.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 475px) 100vw, 475px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We started off the afternoon with recipes from Raley&#8217;s <em>&#8216;Tis the Season to Party! <\/em>Something Extra booklet.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8183\" alt=\"IMG_0937\" src=\"http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG_0937.jpg\" width=\"475\" height=\"317\" srcset=\"http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG_0937.jpg 475w, http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG_0937-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 475px) 100vw, 475px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>First up was <strong>Artichoke Olive Spread<\/strong>. Carolyn had already gone grocery shopping and the ingredients were ready to go.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><br \/>\n3 Pouches Christopher Ranch Roasted Garlic Cloves<br \/>\n2 (6.5-oz.) jars Raley\u2019s Marinated Artichoke Hearts, drained<br \/>\n1 (7-oz.) jar Mezzetta Pitted Bistro Blend Olives, drained<br \/>\n1 Cup Nob Hill Trading Company Roasted Peppers, drained<br \/>\n1 Cup California Sun-Dry Julienne Cut Sun-Dried Tomatoes, drained<br \/>\n\u00bc Cup Fresh Rosemary Leaves<br \/>\n2 Tablespoons Balsamic Vinegar<br \/>\nCrackers or Baguette Slices<\/p>\n<p>Our first mistake was not using roasted garlic &#8211; wow&#8230; that was a huge mistake, LOL&#8230; next time, roasted for sure. We substituted black olives for the bistro blend and that worked out just fine. We also substituted the brand of the roasted peppers.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8186\" alt=\"IMG_0942\" src=\"http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG_0942.jpg\" width=\"475\" height=\"317\" srcset=\"http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG_0942.jpg 475w, http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG_0942-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 475px) 100vw, 475px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Another small mistake &#8211; I should have minced the rosemary into smaller pieces. I guess I thought they would continue to mince in the food processor. Not so much.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8187\" alt=\"IMG_0944\" src=\"http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG_0944.jpg\" width=\"333\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG_0944.jpg 333w, http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG_0944-199x300.jpg 199w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 333px) 100vw, 333px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We placed all ingredients in the food processor (minus the crackers)<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8188\" alt=\"IMG_0945\" src=\"http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG_0945.jpg\" width=\"475\" height=\"317\" srcset=\"http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG_0945.jpg 475w, http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG_0945-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 475px) 100vw, 475px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Carolyn pulsed on and off until the ingredients were chopped.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8190\" alt=\"IMG_0957\" src=\"http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG_0957.jpg\" width=\"475\" height=\"317\" srcset=\"http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG_0957.jpg 475w, http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG_0957-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 475px) 100vw, 475px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We served the spread with crackers, but baguette slices would be another great option. We ended up garnishing them with some of the roasted peppers to brighten up the photos and overall appearance.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8189\" alt=\"IMG_0951\" src=\"http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG_0951.jpg\" width=\"475\" height=\"317\" srcset=\"http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG_0951.jpg 475w, http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG_0951-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 475px) 100vw, 475px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Carolyn&#8217;s Raley&#8217;s &#8220;Try Something&#8221; kit included some fun printed waxed paper for serving. We ended up using them for the second recipe.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8191\" alt=\"IMG_0958\" src=\"http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG_0958.jpg\" width=\"475\" height=\"317\" srcset=\"http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG_0958.jpg 475w, http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG_0958-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 475px) 100vw, 475px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Carolyn thought small mason jars of the spread and fresh baguette would be a great alternative to baked goods for neighbor holiday gifts. I would have to agree.
