His first vision was to create a teriyaki\/pineapple burger. We were on the hunt for the ingredients and then realized that Deede and I had created a version of that a few weekends before. Dan didn&#8217;t want to copy an idea, so he decided on a southwestern themed burger, creating the recipe on the fly as we walked down the store aisles.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5278\" title=\"IMG_4875\" src=\"http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/IMG_4875.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"308\" srcset=\"http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/IMG_4875.jpg 450w, http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/IMG_4875-300x205.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>The All-Natural Ingredients<\/strong> \ud83d\ude09<br \/>\n1 lb. Ground Beef &#8211; 80\/20<br \/>\n2 oz. Cubed Kraft Velveeta Mexican Mild Cheese<br \/>\n1\/4 Cup Corn &#8211; Del Monte Summer Crisp Golden Sweet Corn<br \/>\n1\/4 Cup Tortilla Strips &#8211; Fresh Gourmet Tri-Color Tortilla Strips<br \/>\nSliced Pepper Jack Cheese &#8211; Sargento<br \/>\nChipotle Mayo &#8211; Kraft Sandwich Shop<br \/>\nCorn Dusted Kaiser Rolls &#8211; Sara Lee Whole Grain<br \/>\nSea Salt and Ground Pepper to Taste<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5280\" title=\"IMG_4781\" src=\"http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/IMG_4781.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"303\" srcset=\"http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/IMG_4781.jpg 450w, http:\/\/foodiddy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/IMG_4781-300x202.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Combine beef, Velveeta, corn, tortilla strips, and salt and pepper in a bowl.<\/li>\n<li>Shape into 4 small or 3 large patties. (We made them again after the contest and preferred the bigger patties)<\/li>\n<li>Cook patties for 8-9 minutes on the Foreman Grill. (Any grill would work &#8211; he opted to use the Foreman in case someone else wanted to use the outdoor grill)<\/li>\n<li>Place cheese on top of the burger and let sit on paper towels (to absorb some of the juices) before adding the burger to the bun.<\/li>\n<li>Spread chipotle mayo on both sides of the bun, place the patty on top of the bottom bun and add more tortilla strips on top of the cheese. Like I mentioned above, we&#8217;ve already made them again since the party.
