I&#8217;m definitely drawn to color in clothing, art and\u00a0food. There was a time in my life where I pretty much wore black every single day.\u00a0\u00a0I also died my hair black and wore black Doc Martens to bed &#8211; hah!\u00a0I painted my childhood bedroom with super dark &#8211; outdoor forest green house paint\u00a0 &#8211; Mom and Dad loved that one. Took my\u00a0Dad a million coats of primer to paint before they moved. A switch turned and by the time I\u00a0hit my 30&#8217;s, vibrant colors entered my life. That is if you don&#8217;t count the period in my 20&#8217;s where I had fuchsia hair. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>Enough of that, let&#8217;s get cookin&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-227\" title=\"ingredients\" src=\"http:\/\/foodiddy.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/05\/ingredientsdsc01656.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"318\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>12 oz. Package\u00a0of Cauliflower and Broccoli Pieces &#8211; (about 2 cups)\u00a0&#8211; Next time I&#8217;ll just buy a head of cauliflower and a head of broccoli<br \/>\n1\/2 Tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil &#8211; It was a generous 1\/2 tablespoon &#8211; probably more like 1 Tablespoon.<br \/>\n1 Teaspoon Dried Marjoram &#8211;\u00a0Trying to find this\u00a0led to\u00a0a spice cabinet clean out and organization<br \/>\n1\/4 Teaspoon Salt<br \/>\nFreshly Ground Pepper to Taste<br \/>\n1 Tablespoon Balsamic Vinegar<br \/>\n1\/4 Cup Finely Shredded Parmesan Cheese<\/p>\n<p>First step &#8211; preheat\u00a0the oven to 450 degrees. Toss the cauliflower\/broccoli, EVOO, marjoram, salt and pepper in a bowl.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-228\" title=\"spices\" src=\"http:\/\/foodiddy.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/05\/spicedsc01660.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Spread the seasoned mix onto a baking sheet and roast in the oven\u00a0for 15-20 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-230\" title=\"baking sheet\" src=\"http:\/\/foodiddy.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/05\/oil_dsc01661.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I pulled my batch at 18 minutes. They were starting to soften and brown on the bottom like they were supposed to. I removed them from the baking sheet and put them back into the bowl and added the balsamic.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-229\" title=\"balsamic\" src=\"http:\/\/foodiddy.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/05\/balsamicdsc01665.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Make sure you coat the cauliflower and broccoli really well.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-231\" title=\"cheese\" src=\"http:\/\/foodiddy.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/05\/cheesedsc01666.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Sprinkle the mixture with the finely shredded parmesan and then get things transferred back onto the baking sheet.\u00a0 Roast until the cheese is melted, the moisture has evaporated\u00a0and the edges start browning. It took my batch another 10 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>I was on my own for dinner last night, so this easy dish was perfect! I put a piece of garlic bread under the broiler and dinner was served on the patio.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-232\" title=\"Balsamic and Parmesan Roasted Cauliflower and Broccoli\" src=\"http:\/\/foodiddy.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/05\/forkdsc01668.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This weekend will be filled with a lot of cooking and a family BBQ at our place.
